Today announces the  launched a new Smith Millwork website using AspDotNetStorefront:  http://www.smithmillwork.com.  The goal of the redesign was to provide the web customer with a simple way to browse products, product images and manufacturers and give Smith Millwork the ability to maintain as much of the site as possible. This is a “catalog site” in that customers will not use the site to purchase items, only to browse the selection and imagery and then contact the office for ordering/purchase.  The client is very pleased with the site and is looking forward to advertising at several upcoming builder’s shows.

Items of note on the site include:

  • Creative design, poduct data and great product images
  • Maintenance—Thanks to ASPDNSF, the client is able to fully manipulate the product database to add/remove products, update images, etc. via the admin site
  • Manufacturers—It was very important to the client that a list of Manufactures that they work with be displayed on the site.  These are also maintained by ASPDNSF and can be maintained by the client.

Thanks also to William and John Wallwork, who assisted with releases and the site launch today (on very short notice).  Thanks everyone!  Annette

Princeton Review Selects Beacon

Beacon Technologies has been selected yet again, by the The Princeton Review Inc. to continue serving as a comprehensive and focused technology consultant and partner in their ongoing web marketing efforts for higher education test preparation and private tutoring services, as well as the migration to their new website over the next year.

St. Mary’s College of Maryland Takes Control

When you work for the admissions department of a unique honors college surrounded by the St. Mary’s River, you need a content management system that works as fast as the whitewater around you. Beacon is implementing an HTML template redesign based on the school’s existing graphical mockups by upgrading St. Mary’s to Cascade Server CMS. Launched live in early November, this new system will offer admissions administrators complete control of almost 200 pages of online content.

Last year, The Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners (MBLC), the state agency that supports, improves and promotes library services throughout the Commonwealth, hired Beacon to host and transition their website to Hannon Hill’s Cascade Server CMS. This summer to raise awareness of the state aid to public libraries and the Annual Report Information Survey, MBLC turned to Beacon again, but this time to develop a custom-designed blog that matches their current website using the same WordPress publishing platform the NC-based tech company uses for its Beacon Blog.

NC Technology Association Ready for The FutureOn the heels of hiring a new CEO, the North Carolina Technology Association (NCTA), a statewide membership organization that represents the technology industry, worked with Beacon’s creative services department to redesign their website to be more member-interactive and consulted with Beacon’s Google Analytics experts on how to make its structure more SEO-friendly. Future plans include providing members with a place to register for an event, as well as renew their membership online.
